The only reason for me to wish to be well known is that it might help me to add to what I hope is a rising tide of well-informed environmental awareness. In the meantime it is wonderfully encouraging that people like you value my writing. Thank you for your kind words.
In addition to your information above Richard please look at the history of Cargill in phosphate pollution of the Illinois River from at least 2002.... Cargill had reason to know when it exponentially expanded its Herefordshire operation from 2013 (with 90 new IPUs and acquiescence from Herefordshire Council) that there would be impacts on the River Wye. So it is doing here what it has done all over the world... nakedly exploitative and unsustainable practice despoiling environments and threatening lives and livelihoods.... as it has been doing in Brazil for example for decades where the expansion of soya farming to feed chickens in Herefordshire (and elsewhere) has caused catastrophic deforestation, in turn causing climate instability worldwide and thus, amongst other things, droughts and floods in Herefordshire.
Thank you for that. Their offences are so flagrant that it is hard to adequately describe them all, and it is clear that they are aware of what they are doing and don't want to stop. You might be forgiven for wondering if they are working to some crazy fundamentalist agenda leading to the end of the world..
The law of Ecocide NOW! Can some well heeled person not take them to the cleaners please?
Why are you not as well known as other environmentalists? You write so authoritatively, eloquently and passionately.
But even the Attenboroughs and the Thunbergs are scarcely heeded…

I like that phrase - after all, they should, when necessary, be taking us to the cleaners.
